The Locanda is the result of a meticulous and challenging recovery and renovation project of an old 19th-century building. During Napoleon’s occupation, in fact, the building was used as accommodation and occupied by salt workers from Marseilles who, at Napoleon’s behest, worked in the Comacchio salt pans for their reorganisation. Many of these salt workers stayed for decades, so much so that even today the district that houses this building is called “Little Paris”, a tribute to the link with the French during that historical period.
Locanda del Delta
Located in the beating heart of Comacchio, the Locanda del Delta will be inaugurated in May 2019, becoming a new reference point for visitors wishing to discover the Po Delta Park in all its facets. With the intention of enriching the city’s tourist and gastronomic offer, this structure represents a unique opportunity to live a complete experience in one of the most evocative and historically rich natural areas of Emilia-Romagna.

History and beauty surrounding us
La Locanda del Delta is located in a privileged position, at the foot of Piazzetta Barboncini, an enchanting open space that serves as a veritable living room “en plain air”, where you can enjoy the unique atmosphere of a corner of Comacchio that lies between the charming San Pietro district and the lively old town centre.
From the Locanda’s windows you can see the eighteenth-century Ospedale degli Infermi, which now houses the Museo Delta Antico, the Ponte degli Sbirri, with its fascinating history, and in the distance the Torre dell’Orologio, the Loggia del Grano and the famous Ponte dei Trepponti, true symbols of Comacchio. The historic centre is full of bridges, churches and monuments, all intertwined by the characteristic network of canals that furrows the town, giving it the appearance of a real “little Venice”, a place where water and architecture coexist in perfect harmony.
